Water futures research projects
Bio-physical investigation of sub-tropical water supply reservoirs
Collaborative research with South East Queensland's water supply authority. This collaboration was established in 2007 and has resulted in more than AUD$1 million in direct research funding between 2007-2011. A new 5-year funding agreement was finalised in June 2011 that will see approximately AUD$2.5 million allocated to additional research over the 2011-2016 period.
Coastal groundwater investigations
Investigations into the hydrology of saltmarsh systems in collaboration with the Centre for Eco-Environmental Modelling, State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering at Hohai University, Nanjing, People's Republic of China.
Ecosystem Health Monitoring Program
The CWF provides the SEQ Healthy Waterways Partnership with technical support for its scientific program including the Ecosystem Health Monitoring Program.
Sustainable community-based management of tropical lagoon systems
A collaborative project funded by the McArthur Foundation and delivered by the CWF, local NGOs and Solomon Islands Government. Focussed in the Western Province of Solomon Islands, this program has attracted AUD$1.4 million over the project period (2004-2013)
Vegetation-groundwater interactions
Australian National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training (NCGRT) - The eco-hydrology (vegetation-groundwater interactions) group of the NCGRT is coordinated from the CWF. This group undertakes research into groundwater dependent ecosystems with a view to providing enhanced information on their function to support improved management of these systems.
