Coastal engineering research
The Coastal Engineering research group conducts field, laboratory, and numerical investigations on beach erosion, wave setup, swash processes, coral reef hydrodynamics, tsunami, coastal morphology, coastal flow slides, and river entrance dynamics.
Our current primary research areas are
- Coral Reef Hydrodynamics
- Swash Hydrodynamics and overtopping
- Coastal Flow Slides
- Reef restoration and coral rubble mobility
- Beach profile evolution and sea level rise
- Shoreline response to environmental change
- Climate change and catchment flooding
- Renewable Energy and the Blue Economy
