Mass loss calorimeter

This instrument allows material samples to be heated in a highly controlled manner while simultaneously measuring the mass loss of a sample.

Consequently, it is possible to understand how material degradation occurs and provides a means for assessing materials, products, or assemblies, for mass loss, critical heat flux and time to ignition.

The mass loss calorimeter is often used as a precursor to cone calorimeter testing.
