Researcher biography

Jake is a Research Fellow at the School of Civil Engineering (currently on leave without pay).

With more than 10 years of experience working in the transport sector in Australia and Europe, Jake has led a number of high-profile transport projects, with a particular interest in the field of future mobility policy. He has worked with governments locally and abroad in preparing for the electrification of transport, and has also been involved in several publicly-funded transport research projects investigating future mobility trends, including consumer preferences towards shared, automated and electric vehicles.

Jake's research includes understanding the potential of using electric vehicles as "batteries-on-wheels"; transition policy for the electrification of public transport; and investigation into how road pricing schemes could be used to generate sustainable transport funding, while supporting the uptake of new transport technologies, like electric vehicles.

Jake is also Head of Policy at the Electric Vehicle Council of Australia, was a Lead Author for the Transport Chapter AR6 at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and is a member of the International Electric Vehicle Policy Council, at the University of California, Davis.
