  • Monitoring of water quality (including tidal and water level) using fixed and floating instrumentation in marine and freshwater environments.
  • Water quality monitoring through autonomous surface vessels
  • Characterisation of wave dynamics in shallow and deep waters through wave buoys, pressure transducers and in combination acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP).
  • Flow, current, and turbulence measurements with acoustic instruments.
  • In-situ particle size measurement in combination with total suspended solid monitoring and sedimentation assessment.
  • Bed consolidation, sediment classification, and depth of sedimentation analysis by free-fall penetrometer
  • Bathymetric surveying of marine and freshwater environments, including single beam and multibeam solutions.
  • Sub-bottom profiling of marine sediment through low frequency acoustics and ground penetrating radar.
  • Green house gas emission rates from lakes with real-time floating chambers, optical path detection and atmospheric gas sampling.

Data Analysis & Visualisation

Our team specialises in extracting insights from complex environmental datasets using both traditional statistical techniques and advanced data analytics, including machine learning and geospatial analysis. We explore patterns, trends, and relationships within environmental systems, and present findings through clear, compelling visualisations tailored to diverse audiences—from technical stakeholders to community groups.

Hydrodynamic & Water Quality Modelling

We apply a suite of coupled three-dimensional hydrodynamic and biogeochemical models to investigate the behaviour of aquatic systems under varying land use, climate, and management scenarios. Common applications include developing models to explore:

  • Catchment-to-reef and catchment-to-lake nutrient and pollutant delivery
  • Integrated waterway and coastal restoration
  • Future climate influence and water resources and aquatic ecosystems
  • Wastewater and outfall impact assessment
  • Water quality forecasting and early warning systems

Our modelling work is research-focused, ideally suited to medium- to long-term projects (2–5 years) that aim to deepen understanding of system dynamics and inform strategic decision-making. For short-term or commercially driven modelling needs, we are happy to connect clients with our trusted industry partners.
